a theory is not able to be falsified then it is
not scientific

Duheim Problem If no single theory can be tested in isolation
from other theories, then how do we know if
an observation falsifies the theory we’re
testing or an ancillary theory or
assumption?
According to falsificationism, if a prediction
of a theory is proven false, then the theory
must be rejected. But Duhem argues that
every theory has a number of ancillary
theories and assumptions associated with it.
Therefore, no single theory can be tested in
isolation from other theories.
