Background of the organization

‘’Our Best Days Are Yours’’
‘’From one great day over 100 years ago all the way to today, Kellogg's has continued to fuel
better days for American families. From going to the moon to feeding the U.S. Army to making
your days great, some of our best days have been in your home country, the United States.’’

1898-

It all started in 1898 when the two brothers planned to make granola but their attempt
failed. This failed attempt changed breakfast forever, they accidentally flaked wheat
berry. After experimenting they flaked corn and created the delicious recipe for Kellogg’s
corn flakes.

1906-

Kellogg opened the ‘’Battle Creek toasted corn flake company’’ they hired their first 44
employees and created the initial batch of Kellogg’s.

1942- 1945-

Through the years they were introduced to other countries and made it possible to
display their cereals’ recipes and nutritional info on their boxes, now people could
exactly see what they were eating. During this period Kellogg’s employees produced K-
rations for the U.S. armed forces overseas during World War II.

1969-

Kellogg’s was very honored to provide breakfast for the first men on the moon; Neil
Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins during their historical Apollo 11 trip to the
moon.
