Unit 4 - P6, M3, D2 Content
Both the sales manager and the marketing manager are relatives of the owner and are unfamiliar with the power of IT. Marketing is still carried out by leaflet drops and adverts in the paper, while sales staff travel long distances, knocking on doors to drum up business. Your final proposal will be a continuation and refinement of your earlier work; by reflecting back on that work you should be able to now recommend a proposal to Full of Beans. Check the language and terminology to ensure it is understandable and not too technical, as it needs to suit the audience. P6 Produce a PowerPoint (with detailed speaker’s notes; that will also cover the detail needed for M3 and D2 below) to present your proposal for an IT- enabled improvement to a business system. The proposal should be fit for purpose but may be the simplest and most obvious solution. The proposal should be sufficiently detailed to show the current system and then your proposal and how the improvement would fit in with the existing systems, and include details such as cost, inputs, outputs, effect on staff and other knock-on effects as appropriate. M3 Your proposal made for P6 must demonstrate some original thought; this may be by the introduction of more than one improvement, or a series of improvements over a period of time. Your proposal will give more consideration to the impact it will have for the company than shown for P6. D2 Fully justify your proposals in the speakers notes for P6 for the improvement including advantages & disadvantages. Also include a basic Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA).
